Biography

Bret Stanley has over 30 years of investment experience executing a highly disciplined intrinsic value investment program with distinguished results. He founded Stanley Capital Management, LLC in 2010.

Previously he was Chief Investment Officer, Senior Portfolio Manager and Head of the Invesco Value Equity group. He created the Value Equity unit in 1998 and it reached $15bn in AUM following significant outperformance versus peers and benchmarks.

Prior to joining Invesco Aim in 1998, Bret was a Vice President and Portfolio Manager with Van Kampen American Capital, where he managed growth and income, equity income, and value portfolios from 1995 to 1998. Prior to Van Kampen, he was Vice President and Portfolio Manager at Gulf Investment Management. He began his investment career in 1988 as a sell-side equity analyst for Lovett Underwood Neuhaus & Webb before joining Rotan Mosle/PaineWebber. 

Bret received a B.B.A. in finance from The University of Texas at Austin and a M.S. in finance from the University of Houston. Through a Boston University program he also studied abroad and worked as an equity analyst at Sheppards in London, England.

He holds a Chartered Financial Analyst designation and has been featured in a variety of publications including the book by Kirk Kazanjian, Value Investing with the Masters, The Wall Street Journal, Investor’s Business Daily, Bloomberg and Morningstar.
